Our Web Development Process

Beamstyle's development process meets the guidelines mentioned above to provide the best possible experience for our customers. We are one of the first development teams in Hong Kong to use the Agile methodology, which is a set of guidelines for software development widely used in the United States.
The Three Phases of our Agile Development Process
The agile development process of all Beamstyle's projects is divided into the following three phases:
Pre-development Phase
The first phase of our agile development process consists of several tasks which are to be done before project kick-off. These tasks includes:
- Determining the requirements of the web site
- Defining what will be part of the final deliverables (project scope)
- Estimating a price for the project
- Defining a formal requirement document
- Defining an acceptance document (contains a set of criteria which defines "done")
Building Phase
This phase consists of tasks we do when we are developing the web site. These tasks includes:
- Breaking down the project into smaller tasks
- Estimating the time and cost required for each task
- Letting the customers choose which tasks are the most important so that we work on them first
- Sending out progress reports and showing our interim work
This is the phase where we make ourselves stand out in the industry. By letting our customers prioritize our tasks, project risk and cost are minimized. The demonstration web site is used as a medium for communication between our team and our customers. We can show a working demonstration of the project so that our customers can have an idea of what is being built and if it meets their requirements. The progress report is used to as a checklist to show our state of development.
Post-development Phase
The final phase of our agile development process consists of the following tasks:
- Accepting our project by cross-checking with our acceptance document written during the pre-development phase
- Offering a free six months warranty process
