At Beamstyle, we believe that by using the Agile development model, we can create professional and customizable web sites which meet any customer's need. The Agile development model emerged to the software industry in the late 1990s and it is rapidly being adopted by the western countries. A recent study shows that the success rate for Agile project 71.5% compared to 62.8% for traditional projects.
Beamstyle has chosen four key concepts from the Agile development model and applied them in all our projects. The concepts include customer chosen schedules, waste elimination, fast delivery, and quality solutions.
Customer Chosen Schedules
We understand that our customers care more about some features of their project over others. For example, a job agency company will think that its job search engine is more important than its 'about us' page. Studies had repeatedly shown us that 20% of the functionalities in a system represents 80% of the system's value. At Beamstyle, our team will place priority on building that 20% first. With customer chosen schedules, we can improve our customer's time to market, give a head start on their marketing position, and improve the return on investment.
Waste Elimination
Given the 80/20 rules in the previous section holds true, there will be 80% of the functionalities in a system which only 20% of the system's value. There will likely be functions in the system which are rarely used or not used at all. Anything built but not used is considered as waste. At Beamstyle, we will defer these wasteful features until the end, where the customers can decide if they really want the features. By using waste elimination, we can help our customers save cost and increase the return on investment.
Fast Delivery
The main purpose of the fast delivery is to let our customers see the project's progress and make sure we are creating what they want. To do this, we break the project into smaller tasks. Along with customer chosen schedules, we can create early demo to our customers to show off the core features. In addition, the list of smaller task can be used as a progress report to show the project status to upper management.
